We have lost our Champion.

Growing up, Leia was the first woman I saw in film that was bad ass in her own right, who didn’t want or need a man to be herself and was just so compelling and wonderful.

As an adult, Carrie taught me not to be ashamed of my illnesses. Not to hide behind my depression, my anxieties or eating disorder. She taught me to laugh. To push. To live. And I can never thank her enough. While other people suffered in silence because that is what society accepts, she said no.

Thank you, Carrie. We will miss you. I will miss you.
